Ricky Shindig from Herford delivers energetic, melodic hard rock with an 80s touch – catchy guitar riffs, big hooks, and good vibes! The band consists of Janneck Schmacke (vocals), Daniele Mileto (lead guitar), Nils Werner (rhythm guitar), Oliver Halle (bass guitar), and Patrick Bökamp (drums).
The band was founded in 2020 at a Japanese restaurant called “Sumo.” Their name is a wordplay combining “Rikishi” (a term for a sumo wrestler) and “Shindig” (English for “house party”), representing both the band’s origin and their mission to throw a big party together with their audience.
Ricky Shindig loves interacting with their guests, making it easy for anyone to dive into their show – even if you’ve never heard their songs before.
Thanks to the diverse influences of the band’s four songwriters, their repertoire within the genre is highly varied. You can hear this on their debut album “The Hungry Kind”, which was released on May 5, 2023.
Their first single “Life Is The Same Without You” also has an official music video available on their YouTube channel.
Their musical influences include bands like Guns N’ Roses, Van Halen, Kiss, Bon Jovi, and D-A-D.
Currently, the band is in the songwriting process for their second album – and they might even give the audience a sneak peek during their live shows.
Since releasing their debut album, Ricky Shindig has performed at several festivals and events. Some of their highlights include playing the Open Air in Ravensberger Park in Bielefeld in front of a large crowd, as well as appearances at Kieler Woche and the Friesfork Rockfest in Rheine.
